WALESKA, Ga. - Any hopes of sliding into a low-pressure first year on the job for Reinhardt head football coach Drew Cronic went by the wayside Wednesday as the Eagles were picked to finish in a tie for first with Campbellsville in the Mid-South West Division in the MSC's preseason coaches poll.

"It's great that people think that highly of us," said coach Cronic. "It's where we are at the end of the season that really matters. We're just going to line up and play our brand of football the best that we can."

Cronic cracked a joke and incredulously said, "Absolutely," when asked if more pressure came along with being picked to finish highly. Then, a reflective Cronic said, "No, we've got to worry about us. We've just got to work to be the best that we can be as a football team. If we finish in first, great. If it means we finish in fourth, great. We've just got to be the best that we can be, but it's nice that people are taking notice of us."

RU and Campbellsville each had two first-place votes and finished with 21 points in the poll to tie for the top spot. In a tie for third are Faulkner and Lindsey Wilson. Faulkner and Campbellsville tied for first last year in the MSC-West, while Lindsey Wilson won the Mid-South's East Division last year but will transition to the other side of the conference ledger for 2015. Picked to place fifth are Bethel and Cumberland.

The Eagles will face the top two teams from the MSC-East's preseason poll. Georgetown is picked to win the East with five first-place votes and 25 total points, while Pikeville racked up 18 points to place second.

The Eagles will open the season Aug. 29 at Point before opening the home slate Sept. 12 against Kentucky Christian. Season tickets are still available for the 2015 season, with online sales at
