Olathe, Ks. – The Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) held their annual conference meetings and their football media day this past Monday in Olathe, Kansas.

"This is the start of everything," said Central Methodist Head Football Coach Jody Ford. "I have a lot of respect for all of the coaches in this conference. I am very proud to be associated with all of these guys and I am very fortunate to be surrounded by everybody in this league."

While the conference meetings took up the larger portion of the day, the late afternoon was blocked off for the conference's football media day. Radio and television crews ventured to Olathe, Kansas for the chance to sit down with each teams head coach and star players. Representing CMU was head coach Jody Ford and senior wide receiver Jamall Williams.

When asked about where the Eagles were picked in the preseason poll, Coach Ford said, "Its right where we thought we would be. It's not a shocker to us after going 6-5 last season. We know that we are a much improved team from last season and we are excited for the chance to show that to folks this season."

Central Methodist is picked to finish in fifth place in a tough southern division. MidAmerica Nazarene received four first place votes, while Missouri Valley and Baker each received one first place vote.

On the northern side, Grand View University out of Des Moines, Iowa received four out of the six first place votes. The Vikings are a perennial contender each year and will be competing in "The Heart" for the first time in 2015.

The football season kicks-off for Central Methodist on Saturday August 29th, when the Eagles travel north to Peru, Nebraska to face Peru State. CMU returns home to Fayette the following week, when the Eagles entertain Grand View University for the 2015 regular season home opener at Davis Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30pm, with the game being televised on ESPN3.
