COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson football team has been picked to finish tied for third in the Mid-South Conference West Division Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

The Blue Raiders received 17 total voting points from the head coaches within the West Division. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team.

Also tied for third place is Faulkner (Ala.) with 17 voting points and one first-place vote.

Campbellsville (Ky.) and Reinhardt (Ga.) are the favorites atop the preseason poll with 21 voting points and two first-place votes apiece. Tied for fifth in the poll is Bethel (Tenn.) and Cumberland (Tenn.) with seven voting points each.

Campbellsville and Faulkner shared the West Division title in 2014 as Reinhardt finished one game behind.

Lindsey Wilson captured the 2014 MSC East Division title with a perfect 6-0 record. The Blue Raiders move back to the West Division for the 2015 season as former affiliate member Belhaven (Miss.) departed from the MSC. Each division now has six teams.

Lindsey Wilson, Faulkner and Campbellsville were all ranked in the 2015 NAIA Spring Coaches' Poll, with the Blue Raiders garnering the highest ranking at No. 7.

In the East Division, Georgetown has been picked as the favorite with 25 points and five first-place votes.

Last season, the Blue Raiders posted a 10-3 record while capturing the first conference title in program history. Lindsey Wilson won their first NAIA Football Championships Series game in their first postseason appearance, advancing to the national quarterfinals.

The 2015 season kicks off for the Blue Raiders on Sept. 5 with a road contest in Batesville, Ark., against Lyon (Ark.) College.
