Georgetown College football opens the 2015 season in one month, Sept. 5 in Lebanon, Tenn. The Tigers will battle Cumberland University for the first time since 2009. Kickoff is set for 2:30 pm EST.

Follow the game live with a 2 pm GC broadcast streaming live on 93.3 with Chris Labar doing the play-by-play. This game will be a Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Awareness Game, an initiative started by GC assistant coach Dwayne Ellison.

"Our spring practices went well, and we are excited to get going," said GC coach Bill Cronin. "Both teams will be ready after spending the previous month or so in preseason practices."

The two teams squared off 13 times in 15 years, but additional teams joining the Mid-South Conference has shifted this series to the backburner the past five seasons. Cronin is 9-2 all-time against the Bulldogs, including a 4-2 record on the road.

This will start a season where the Tigers will need to be road warriors, six of the 10 regular season games are away from Toyota Stadium including a three-game stretch at the end.

Georgetown is 10-3 all-time against the Bulldogs, but dropped the 2009 meeting 31-21 in Lebanon. The Tigers won the previous seven meetings. The series started out as one of the most competitive in the GC history books, 2-2 before the seven straight wins for the Orange & Black.

"This is a tough battle and hopefully something that helps us focus our guys once we get to practicing," Cronin said. "This is an unknown opponent to all our student-athletes and an important road game to start the season."

Game updates can also be followed through live tweeting by following GCAthletics. Following the Sept. 5 game in Lebanon, the Tigers return to Georgetown for the lone home stand playing Lindsey Wilson College on Sept. 12 and Reinhardt University on Sept. 19.
