KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released its 2015 NAIA Football Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll and Robert Morris University Illinois begins the year rated 20th in the voting.  The Eagles were also rated 20th in the final 2014 and spring 2015 polls.

"These polls usually reflect last season's accomplishments," said RMU Head Coach Jared Williamson.  "There was a team playing in the national championship game that was not in the pre-season poll last year so while it's nice to be ranked, we understand nothing matters except today's preparation."

The Eagles finished the 2014 season with an overall record of 8-3 and were 3-3 in the tough MSFA Mideast, including wins over second ranked and national runner-up Marian University (Ind.) and fourth ranked and national semi-finalist Saint Xavier University.  Marian begins this season tied with Southern Oregon University atop the NAIA Top 25 Poll, while Saint Xavier is fourth.

"We're focused on stacking good days on top of good days as we move towards a tough 2015 schedule, which is nothing new as a member of the MSFA," added Williamson.

RMU moves to the MSFA Midwest League from the Mideast this season, joining Olivet Nazarene University, Saint Ambrose University (Iowa), University of Saint Francis, Saint Xavier University, and Trinity International University.  The MSFA Mideast League features Concordia University (Mich.), Lindenwood University-Belleville, Marian University (Ind.), Missouri Baptist University, University of Saint Francis (Ind.), Siena Heights University (Mich.), and Taylor University (Ind.).

The Eagles open the season at Morris Field on Saturday, September 5th at 6pm versus the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and then travels to Valley City, North Dakota on September 12th to take on 17th ranked Valley City State University.
