SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. -- The Nebraska Wesleyan University football team was picked to finish 7th in the 2015 preseason Great Plains Athletic Conference Coaches' poll that was released on Thursday (Aug. 6).  The poll was voted on by all 10 coaches at the 16th Annual GPAC Football Media Day that was held at the Marina Inn in South Sioux City, Neb.  NWU was picked to finish 7th in the 2015 media poll.

The Prairie Wolves received 33 total points for 7th place.  Three-time GPAC Champion Morningside College received 81 points and nine first place votes to earn the top spot in the GPAC Coaches poll, while Northwestern College had 73 points and one first place vote for second place.

Nebraska Wesleyan will report to camp on Wednesday, Aug. 12th.  The Prairie Wolves are expecting around 120 players to report to 2015 fall preseason camp.  The first practice of the season will be Aug. 13.

Head Coach Brian Keller, who begins his 20th season as coach of the Prairie Wolves, returns 11 starters (6 offense, 5 defense) and 37 total letterwinners from the 2014 squad.  NWU finished the 2014 season with a 4-6 overall record, ending the year tied for 6th place in the GPAC standings with a 4-5 conference record.

The Prairie Wolves open the season on Sept. 5 when they travel to Wichita, Kan., to face Friends University, a team  ranked #21 in the NAIA Spring poll.  NWU will open conference play on Sept. 12 with a trip to three-time reigning GPAC Champion Morningside College.
