WICHITA, Kan. - The Friends University football team was picked 1st by the media and 3rd by the coaches at the 2015 KCAC Football Media Day held at the Hotel at Old Town Friday afternoon.

Friends tied Tabor with 137 points in the media poll, edging out the Bluejays by garnering nine of the 15 first place votes. Tabor received the other six.

Defending KCAC champion Ottawa was picked #1 in the coaches' poll, follwed by the Bluejays and then Friends. The Braves recevied eight of the 10 coaches first place votes, with Tabor getting the other two.

The Falcons went 8-3 overall and 7-2 in the KCAC in 2014, ending the season in a 2nd place tie with Sterling. Friends finished the season ranked #21 in the NAIA, and took the same spot in the spring poll. The NAIA preseason poll will be released on Monday, August 10th and the first regular season poll comes out September 14th.

Friends opens the 2015 season on September 5th, hosting Nebraska Wesleyan in the KCAC/GPAC Challenge at 6:00pm.

KANSAS CITY, Mo - The Friends University football team maintained their position from the spring poll, coming in #21 in the 2015 NAIA Football Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

The Falcons gained five votes from the previous poll in April, going from 59 to 64.

Friends is joined in the poll by fellow KCAC members Ottawa (#14), Tabor (T#22), and Sterling (RV). Defending national champion Southern Oregon and national runner-up Marian (Ind.) tied atop the poll with 304 points. Southern Oregon receiving eight of the 14 first place votes. Marian received five and Carroll (Mont.) received the other. Carroll ranks #4 overall in the poll.

The first regular season poll will be released on September 14th.

Friends opens the 2015 season at home against Nebraska Wesleyan in the GPAC/KCAC Challenge. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00pm on Saturday, September 5th.
