WHITEFISH, Mont. – For the fifth time in the last seven seasons, the Eastern Oregon University football team was picked to finish in the top three of its league, as the Mountaineers were tabbed No. 3 in the 2015 Frontier Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

"We are very excited for the 2015 season to get started," said head football coach Tim Camp. "We have a very challenging schedule in the strongest NAIA football conference in the country!"

The Mountaineers, who received 36 points in the poll, finished the 2014 campaign in third place with a 7-3 mark in Frontier Conference play. EOU concluded last season as the No. 15 team in the land, and the Mountaineers claimed the No. 13 spot in the 2015 NAIA Coaches' Spring Top 25 poll.

"We have a very short amount of time once fall camp starts to get ready for a very talented College of Idaho program," said Camp. "I know that our players and coaches will continue to prepare for this challenge ahead of us."

Despite winning last season's NAIA National Championship, Southern Oregon University (44 points) was picked to finish second in the league behind Carroll College (47), the defending champions in the Frontier Conference. Meanwhile, EOU was selected third in front of Rocky Mountain College (28), University of Montana Western (27), College of Idaho (16), Montana Tech (16), and MSU-Northern (10).

EOU returns three players who received all-conference recognition last season, including senior wide receiver Jace Billingsley, who registered 79.1 rushing yards per contest in 2014 and was fourth in the conference in touchdowns with 16.

"At the end of the day, we want to make our alumni base in our region and the state of Oregon proud each time we take the field representing EOU," commented Camp.

EOU opens the 2015 slate on Aug. 29 against College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho, at 12 p.m. PST.

LA GRANDE, Ore. – As the No. 13 Eastern Oregon University football team continues to prepare for its season opener against College of Idaho on Saturday, head football coach Tim Camp announced the team captains for the 2015 campaign.

Junior quarterback Zach Bartlow, senior running back Jace Billingsley, senior defensive back Adam Bese, and senior linebacker Gary Posten were the quartet of captains announced by Camp on Sunday afternoon.

"This is a group of guys that have been selected by their teammates and coaches because they are outstanding ambassadors for our program," said Camp. "They are leaders in the classroom, in the community, in the locker room, and are fine representatives of Eastern Oregon University and this program."

Zach Bartlow – JR – QB – 6'0" – 195 lbs. – Waitsburg, Wash. (Waitsburg HS)

In addition to his hard work on the field, Bartlow earned 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete plaudits.

Jace Billingsley – SR – RB – 5'9" – 185 lbs. – Winnemucca, Nev. (Lowry HS)

Billingsley's junior campaign helped aid the Mountaineers to their highest win total since 2011. Billingsley earned first-team all-conference recognition, as well as 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.
